A Lennox 2.5 Ton Heat Pump Install: What I Learned About the iComfort WiFi Thermostat, a Diesel Heater, and My Own Assumptions

The Call That Started It

Last March, a customer named Diane called me about a 14-year-old heat pump that had made it through one summer too many. When I explain a furnace or a thermostat, I try to stay honest about what I’m sure of and what I’m guessing at. The Wi-Fi issue was a perfect example. I was about to tell Diane, “They sent us a bad thermostat,” when the evidence didn’t support that claim yet.

Now I keep a small checklist in the truck. It doesn’t have huge steps. It has the boring ones:
